FAQ

How long does PMU last?

Although this type of art is called permanent makeup it is in fact not fully permanent. Most artwork will last approximately 24 months. Most people notice a very slow fading process and usually touch up ever 12 to 18 months to keep a good color retention long term.

What can cause PMU Fading?

  • Excessive sun exposure during early stages of healing process and afterwards
  • Excessive oily skin
  • Excessive sweating during early stages of healing process
  • Trauma to treated area - water pressure directly on artwork, soaking artwork, rubbing, scratching, pulling, tugging - during early stages of healing process
  • Iron deficiency
  • Certain autoimmune diseases
  • Certain antibiotics

Who is a good fit for PMU?

Most clients are excellent candidates for PMU. During our consultation, I will discuss which procedure you may benefit most from based on your goals, skin, and hair condition.

However, permanent makeup is not recommended for the following:

  • Pregnant or nursing moms
  • Diabetic clients (healing process concerns)
  • Clients who are currently receiving or have recently received chemotherapy
  • Clients with heart conditions.
  • Clients with certain skin irritations (like sunburn (please ask if this is an issue))
  • Clients who have used lash serums within 60 days of scheduled appointment
  • Clients with lash extensions (you can remove them prior to appointment)
  • Clients who are currently receiving or have received accutane within the last year
